MASSIVE props to the guys at heatwave.co.uk for this hot tip.

Just like last year's Virginity it's a big fresh sounding tune with bare slack lyrics, this time in the form of a love song about marijuana.

Vybz im pon fire at the moment. Nuff nuff nuff respect.

Get to know.

Dark & Delicious

We likes this early 93 ardkore Bay B Kane banger off the wonderful Kikman Records.

Watch dat sample at 2.10 cuz. Heavy.

"The Dead Past"

Yea, I'm just getting into Sun Ra, properly. This is mainly due to my reading of this. This here song off 1967's Atlantis by the man with his Astro-Inifinity Arkestra focuses mainly around his clavinet 'Solar Sound Instrument.' This shit is the very definition of next.

Earth people hear this warning;

"The civilizations of the past have been used as the foundation of the civilization of today. Because of this, the world keeps looking toward the past for guidance. Too many people are following the past. In this new space age, this is dangerous. The past is DEAD and those, who are following the past are doomed to die and be like the past. It is no accident that those who die are said to have passed since those who have PASSED are PAST."

Space is the Place.

Get to know.

"...where is the sweetness?"

Very interesting little interview with David Rodigan here.

He's clearly unhappy with the state of Jamaican music at the minute, and surprisingly has some nice things to say about dubstep crowds! A trendy opinion in the UK right now this certainly is not, but the way our man expresses his concern for the music and love for the UK massive is genuinely sweet, amusing and uplifting.

For those of you who don't know, Mr Rodigan is one of the coolest men alive and has been doing stuff like this for years now.

Recognise.

Wicked. Oh yea, I went to a hip-hop karaoke night last thursday. That shit was absolutely live. Really just too much fun. They run them quite regularly around London, so try and catch one if you can. Standardly whipped out the vintage ODB style shit, and as if that wasn't fun enough in itself I got a free fucking beer for it.

Mad props to the people who put it on. Too jokes. Here's some footage.

Pesky Plate

Just remembered.

Bought this 12" last week, then Jamie Vexd dropped it at Plan B on saturday night and slewed it.

As ever Monkey's provided dat dope shit, this time on a kinda funky flex. Obviously. It works and yes it is alot. You know this.

Get all over it.

2010 soundzzzz.
Get me.

Sound Of The Pirates

I was YoutTube cruisin and found some good stuff.

Trim and Roachee on Rinse last year. Class. Some classic bars in there ("..I'm shankin, watch man skank when I'm ere...don't ramp I'll ball your whole camp when I'm ere.." HYPPPEE, roachee's out the bin! And the desert eagle fast chat Trim often does. Raaates it.).

Frisco, Flowdan and a bunch of others, also from last year. Late last year I think. Everyone's on fire. Well worth a pree. Part 2 is jokes, there's some good skeng man chattin. And a sick but not-AT-ALL-niche-NOR-funky-jus-grime-with-pitched-up-vocals DJ Q riddim.

Very nice. Well worth your ears.
Locked in, locked on. If a little bit late.

"...my flow's tighter than jeans on a emo."

<3 grime.

Talkin The Hardest

Giggs on playing computer games and how he thinks football is boring. You know that's jokes. Skip to 3.00 in...

It was only out for a little while on Sunday, but it was there, and it was great...More please soon, it's been very cold for a very long time.

Folks get down.

I've got some new cartidges, been out since Ed Solo jacked em at the mingle. Expect a set soon Jambie fans. Might try streaming one...Updates on that soon yea.

Taliban Warfare

Uuuuhhh, it looks like Trim and Wiley are clashing!!!!

Now I ain't sayin I'm backin one or the other yea, if they got beef they got beef and that's between them.

All I'm sayin is this - the fact that this means plenty more freestyles are now certain to come out of man like Trimbal in 2010 is very very good news for anyone listening to grime today...Lissstteeennnnn!

Wednesday 13 January 2010

Rave soon come

"Four dead and two wounded...
...right bullet, right time."

Straight backy bizniz.

Darkside Of The Woods

Ended up listening to nothing but straight up UK psychy freak folk shit yestersay. Started pleasantly enough, but ended up getting some serious kicks out of Comus, who are definitely more towards the freaky end of things than the fruity. They're really really good, and getting rediscovered a bit at the moment cos they recently reunited I think.

Alongside the ridiculously deep album artwork you should maybe check out tracks like this one "Song To Comus." Unlike ISB or Dr Strangely Strange these guys did songs about rape, violence and madness. It's folk boss, but not as most mans know it...

...and I like it! Check em out.

The Greatest Friends I Have In Life

I'm sick today. Taking refuge in The Incredible String Band, 'The Big Huge' to be precised. You should all listen to it too, it's lovely.

"Then I offered my throat to the wolf but I just can't die. All I can do is fly...."

Scratchedelia...Expand your mind and your ass will follow

Seeing as how I seem to be re-living the 1992 hardcore ting day by day at the moment via pirate sets and rave recordings on Youtube I jus thought I'd share some of it with you here by pointing you towards some of the most phenomenal scratch' n' mixing I've ever heard on this clip of a Remarc set on Weekend Rush 92.5.

Go to like 3.20 in for a particularly hype bit if you like, but honestly every single track in this set is fuckin awesome and made EVEN BETTER by the mixing. This shit is reeeaallll. Proper education here, dun know.

We LOVES Remarc. Absolutely holding it down since day.

This is a real treat. Enjoy.

Tuesday 5 January 2010

Fuck

BULLET BULLET BULLET!!! Ummm, check this. Oh shit, I think I really really really like it loads and loads. Got it pon di absolute replay...He's absolute slewed it again. Very very very excited, bare bare bare bare hype.

Ghetto youths, watch your step...Watch your step step...Just get on it yea, cos this one's big. Trussss me, words cannot express.

I see dead people...

Mo' hot shit JA Rave stylez here on the Outbreak Riddim, which I think broke at the end of last year.

Busy's tune on it's a big gyalis one which is wicked, and then there'ss this one from the ever gangsta ever bad gully god Mavado which is el loco.

Very very mad. Enjoy.

Sting Dem.

Badness

Spotted.

Mr Vegas sampling Jacket (couldn't find a clip of the full track...sorry) by top boy fuckedupstep producer MONKEY (2008), and "I Don't Wanna Lose You Love" sampling Hold It Down by old skool ardkore badmen 2 Bad Mice (1991) start nearly identically.

Dun know dat sampledelia is mad referential and sounds batty amounts of ridiculous inna the dance. This is why STAGGA and MONKEY are 2 of the of the best and baddest hardcore dance music producers in the UK today.

Apparently the break is a loop from an old rare groove track.

Aren't they all.

Rush Me

Nice obscure 92 number to get tings rushing off into 2010...been cruising old Top Buzz sets and this one was a real find.

Breaks, booms, blips and plentya pitched up vocal euphoria? Uhhh, yea...Do you need much else? Uhhh, no.

Eeee Come Alive.
